Allison Majerik Black

Owner & Head Trainer

Allison has been a lifelong horse person and has her "R" judges card with USEF. She is the owner and head trainer of Fox Lake Farm. Allison has a track record of success spanning her 30 plus year career; she has trained horses and riders to top ribbons at Devon, WIHS, PNHS, NHS, Pony Finals, Derby Finals as well as at horse shows across the Southeast. She has coached horses and riders to Zone 4 Championships and Horse of the Year titles. A passionate horsewoman, she instills her values of good horsemanship in each rider in her program. Mary Anne Majerik Founder,

Owner & Office Coordinator

Mary Anne is a lifelong horsewoman. Along with her father, C.E. Wadley, Mary Anne established Fox Lake Farm in 1970. Later she continued building the farm with her husband Jim. She is a staple around the barn and helps keep things running smoothly. She has a deep love for all creatures but has a special place for the 6 barn cats that call Fox Lake Farm home.

Guerry Force Barn Manager & Assistant Trainer

Guerry is the barn manager and an assistant trainer. Guerry grew up riding under Allison’s tutelage, and shares her dedication to good horsemanship and quality care. She joined the team in 2011. Her top priority is the health and comfort of every horse at Fox Lake Farm. Guerry is also actively involved in the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association, holding a position on the Board of Directors for 6 years running. She is currently serving as president of the association. In 2019 she was awarded the Jerry Morrison Sportsmanship Award and the AHJA Service Award. Both awards honor the service and dedication to the AHJA and her students. In 2020 she was awarded the Pat Hoyle Sportsmanship Award. She was awarded the Jerry Morrison Award again in 2021. To contact Guerry please email Guerry@FoxLakeFarm.org.

Jen Hauser Professional Rider & Assistant Trainer

Jen is a professional rider and an assistant trainer. Jen has a wealth of knowledge both in and out of the show ring. She has experience as an FEI groom, having traveled to world-class events such as the Central American Games in Colombia. She has extensive show ring experience in the Grand Prixs, 1.30 classes, and professional hunter divisions. Jen has brought along a number of young horses as well, showing them in the Young Jumper classes and Green Hunters. During her time at Fox Lake Farm, Jen has helped riders qualify, compete and ribbon at WIHS Finals, Junior Hunter Finals, Equitation Finals, and Zone Jumper Championships including a win in the 2023 USHJA Zone Jumper finals. Jen also competed in the 2023 USHJA Zone Jumper Finals and was on the bronze medal winning team in the Platanimum 1.35m section. To contact Jen please email Jen@FoxLakeFarm.org.

Emma Madison Professional Rider & Assistant Trainer

Emma is a professional rider and assistant trainer with an emphasis on teaching a strong foundation to beginner and intermediate riders. Emma had a successful junior career around the Southeast riding at both the local and national level. She is currently bringing along her own personal young horse from the ground up. Emma is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of North Alabama.

Amy Knowles Lesson Program Director

Amy has been a part of the Fox Lake Farm staff for over 11 years. She oversees our lesson program, teaches the foundation of proper riding, and instills a love of horses in our beginner riders. Amy has been riding all of her life and is an HA graduate of Cahaba Pony Club. To contact Amy please email Amy@FoxLakeFarm.org.

Joel Moctezuma

Joel has been at Fox Lake Farm for over 10 years. As one of our head grooms, Joel always makes sure our horses look their best at home and at the shows. Joel is a two time winner of the Mikey’s Groom Class at Brownland Farm in the jumper division. He has also won the groom’s class at the Germantown Charity Horse Show which involved riding.

Junior Ortega

Junior is one of our main grooms at home and at shows. When not traveling with Fox Lake Farm to shows, Junior competes in rodeos. He loves grooming the horses to look their best and keeping our operation top notch.

Mauricio Barrios

Mauricio is one of our main grooms at Fox Lake Farm. He rides and trains his own horses for the rodeos. Being a master horseman himself, Maurico is patient and kind with the horses he cares for.

Armando Gonzalez

Armando has worked at Fox Lake Farm for over 10 years. He is kind and caring with all of the animals at the farm. Our farm looks beautiful mainly in part to Armando’s dedication to our landscaping needs.

Flavio Moctezuma

Flavio is one of our main grooms and farm hands. He is very patient and kind with the horses and little kids needing help. Flavio is Joel’s father, and rides himself.

A Timely Affair & Jus d’O were awarded best turnout at the 2020 and 2021 Washington International Horse show respectively. These awards are a culmination of all the hard work of our amazing grooms! These awards are won at home with expert daily care and attention to details.
