About - Holly Howerton

Holly is an Alabama native having grown up in Chelsea, Alabama.

She got her love and passion for horses from her Mom Karen and to this day the horses are a passion that they still both enjoy together.

Holly began training at Fox Lake Farm with her beloved childhood horse Made By Kostolany (who you can still find at Fox Lake Farm teaching the ropes to the younger generations). She transitioned from working student to professional in 2025 and hasn’t looked back!



During her junior years, she activly showed in the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association earning:

  • Jeannie Reese Memeorial Tophy

  • Christie Dillinger Junior Sportsmanship Award

  • 3x winner of the AHJA Junior Board Equitation Challenge

  • JR’s Legal Tender Children’s Hunter Trophy

  • Multiple state titles

 

Holly is also an accomplished jumper rider having shown successfully up to the 1.25m at venues like WEC Ocala, Tryon, and Brownland Farms.

Holly’s role at Fox Lake Farm calls for her to split her time between the USEF circuit and the local circuit helping riders transition up the levels.

She has a soft ride that helps horses gain confidence and creates a clear line of communication that is easy for owners to follow when it’s their time to shine. Holly is also our in house pony rider!

Holly’s favorite part of Fox Lake Farm, “I love getting to ride so many different and unique horses. Each one has their own personality and it’s so special to for a bond with each and every one of them. They all have something to teach and I take pride in getting to be a part of their success and continuing their development. I also have a love for teaching. From up down lessons to helping some of our best riders, it gives me such joy to not only shine in the show ring but put in the work to continue to develop at home. When you’ve been helping a horse and rider pair work through some difficulties and finally see them overcome that obstacle, that is a feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment I can’t even describe.
